Team Leader, Client & Broker Services



The Team Leader, Client & Broker Services (CBS) is responsible for coaching the CBS staff, ensuring the service quality required to maximize our retention results, while also delivering on our strategic operational initiatives.


  • Maintains a team-oriented work environment; responsible for orienting and training employees
  • Accomplishes staff, cross-functional team and sales organization objectives by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring and appraising job results; coaching and counseling employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies and procedures with the support of the Director, Client Management
  • Ensures that the CBS team delivers on sales and retention commitments, projects and goals by working collaboratively with the Marketing, Operations and other internal stakeholders with the support of the Director, Client Management
  • Responsible for overall retention and growth of accounts through cross-selling in assigned book of business
  • Responds to a variety of strategic broker and client-level inquiries from operational to informational; develops and maintains strong relationships with clients and brokers
  • Delivers superior customer services by maintaining contact with assigned block of clients and brokers by conducting proactive outreach on a regular basis
  • Collaborates with the Director, Client Management to create detailed and strategic targeted account plans to ensure 100% retention
  • Maintains detailed knowledge of new and existing products by closely working with colleagues
  • Ensures credibility with clients by maintaining detailed knowledge of current market conditions and competitors’ products
  • Manages, organizes, and conducts client meetings when necessary
  • Appropriately documents conversations with clients and brokers and updates all computer systems when necessary; ensures accuracy of data in those systems


  • BA/BS degree
  • 3+ years managing complex client accounts and relationships
  • General understanding of health insurance industry
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively in order to meet client deadlines
  • Ability to manage client expectations and understand the impact both administratively and financially
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to a team-oriented office environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel
  • Experience with preferred
